I was driving along Lakeshore Drive in Dorval this afternoon (August 4th, at around 2:40pm) and found a cat that had been hit by a car and left on the side of the road in the sun. I rushed the animal to the DMV in Lachine but it was in critical condition and I had to make the decision to euthanize. There was no collar, ID or microchip.
I am desperately trying to find the owner of this cat. The clinic typically only holds bodies at the for a period of 48 hours. It would be compassionate if the family of this cat could know what happened, say their goodbyes, and have the remains if they desire.
I found her on Lakeshore Road approximately 2 minutes from the exit 5, onto highway 20 east(the exit prior to sources). Due to the circumstances of the incident I have no photos of the animal.
UPDATE : An enormous thanks to Lisa for sharing this information. The owner was found and though upset of course, was at least relieved to know that her cat was looked after.

Oui je sais, je ne sais pas si c’est Gucci ou bien un autre chat qui a été trouvé par cette personne, mais j’ai envoyé un message aux deux personnes, ces gens le recherche dans la région de dorval,, et cette chatte c’est fait frappé à Dorval,, sur lakeshore,, j’espère qu’ils vont voir les messages,, espérons que ce n’est pas elle mais ci c’est le cas ils pourront aller identifier leur chatte. ils ne mentionnent pas que DMV avait regarder pour une micropuce,,

C’est mentionné que le DMV l’ont scanné puis n’ont pas trouvé un puce… Mais merci d’avoir fait une suivi.
Il y a des gens à Pointe Claire qui ont perdu leur chatte leur no de tel est Shaun no 514 695-2787
