Sad news in Longueuil :
Last night, on November 17 around 7 pm, I drove a little cat that had just been hit on Boulevard Chambly in Longueuil, to the veterinary clinic on the South Shore, on the same boulevard. The little female had no identity (no collar, no microchip).
Moreover, the person who hit her did not even stop. GRRRR There was also a man, witness of the scene waiting in a parking lot of a building he was about to leave and he didn’t do anything either. Vive la compassion !! Excuse me, but it does me a little good to write ☹
In short, the veterinarian couldn’t do anything to save her, because she was suffering from internal bleeding, had no feeling in her hind legs and what else ???? So I reluctantly euthanized the cat, telling myself that it would shorten her suffering, at the very least.
So, this is a young female, a year at most. She was black and white, very slim, but not skinny, black being dominant, with large white boots on her hind legs and small white boots on her front paws. A little white also at the chest. She was neither operated nor declawed and had a litter some time ago, because her mammaries were still a little swollen.
Remarkably, she did not try to bite or scratch me when I took her. I am genuinely sorry if she belonged to someone and even more if she had no family. I attended her euthanasia so that she was not alone and she heard words and a soothing touch until the end.
If ever she is looked for and the owner wishes to contact me, here are my contact details, Christiane Goyette: 450 461-9812 or christianegoyette57[at] hotmail[dot] com
