Grey cat found in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

cat found in Hochelaga

There’s a gray cat, male, intact, not declawed who comes to meow at my door since two days, he seems hungry and in heat. Very sweet and affectionate, he seeks to return home. Adam Street, near Viau.

UPDATE – JAN 29TH : This darling didn’t have a chance to find his home, just one day after posting, he was found, hit by a car. RIP sweetheart, sorry that we let you down.

Kevin

Kevin

Kevin didn’t make it home today, he was a victim of a pool drowning. Please read the comment from his owner, it raises important points on both the issue of declawing, and pool safety. Kevin’s not the first cat on the site to have lost his life this way, a common and avoidable tragedy. Declawing, while banned in many countries, is a very common procedure in Quebec, it is amputation and will unfortunately leave a cat unable to defend itself in many situations.

My condolences to the family of Kevin. RIP sweetheart, you were much loved I know, and will be greatly missed.

Pat

cat found in Rosemont

Pat

I received the sad news that “Pat” left us today. His visit to the vet had revealed that though his tests came back negative for any infectious diseases, he was actually a senior cat, and in a fragile state. But I have to marvel at the wonderful care he received, starting with Justine who found him in such a terrible way and didn’t turn away, to Tristan who welcomed him into his home and gave him such wonderful care, combing out his mats and showing him so much affection, to Loulou who took him for his tests, and Moustache adoptions who covered his expenses. And finally, surpassing expectations, to his final adoptive home where he spent his final days, warm, comfortable and loved. It wasn’t so unexpected that he passed, and I find myself tonight grieving a bit more for the little souls who aren’t shown the consideration and love that Pat enjoyed in their time of need. RIP beautiful Pat, and my heartfelt thanks to those who care.

Urgent! Shepherd mix at SPCA

dog at SPCA - November

He is a male, mixed breed (shep mix?), looks unfixed, but but not confirmed since he was showing his teeth big time…   He is around 2 yo, and had a choker and a red leash on when found.  His nose is pinkish. He was found in DDO.

His reference number is 171785.

He will be evaluated tomorrow and is in grave danger due to aggression.

UPDATE – NOV 28TH : This poor fellow didn’t make it. If he really was aggressive and not just scared, then someone made him that way. RIP beautiful boy. You’ll have a lot of company on the other side, sadly.

Injured cat at the SPCA – urgent!

cat injured at SPCA

A long haired grey and white sterilized male cat was brought to the Montreal SPCA on Decarie and Jean Talon this morning, November 4th at 11:30 am. He was found in back of the Orange Julep on Decarie in NDG/CDN. I normally don`t post animals that are brought in as strays but this “kind sir“ is absoultely someones. Additionally, his 2 front paws are declawed. He is sweet, friendly and cuddly. UNFORTUNATELY, he seems to have no feeling in his 2 back paws and may be paralyzed. We would really like to find the owner or at least inform the owner of the injured cat.

UPDATE – NOV 17TH : In the absence of a family, I will grieve for this poor soul, who was never claimed from the SPCA, and had to be euthanized because of his grave injuries. RIP little one.
