This handsome and affectionate guy found in April was never claimed, but has found a new home!

I wish I had more details to share, all I know is Nugget was found today, 2 months after she’d gone missing! Yay Nugget!

Cocotte at home

Cocotte is an exceptionally lucky and plucky little bird! Lost in Valleyfield, and back home after a big adventure. I received a really nice note today and some new pictures of her back at home with her friends! This is her story in her owner’s words : (translated from French!)

A week ago, Cocotte was found, thanks to the English translation of your site! She was found in Lasalle, she had travelled 60 kilometres and stopped from weakness in the driveway of a house in the suburbs, where they were English. They then did a search in English (my only posting on Kijiji was uniquely in French) and they stumbled on your site. I went to fetch her the same day, she was weak and dehydrated but now she is recovering from her adventure and is back with her friends, one month and 60 kilometres later … I didn’t write earlier because I wasn’t sure it was really her, I had to study her a little, her behavior, etc. … Today I know it’s her. Thank you for the existence of petluck.ca…

So if you’re unlucky enough to lose a little bird, they can travel quite a distance! I’m so happy that the pretty little Cocotte is back home!

My dog was stolen from my car on the corner of Rue St-Denis and Rue Belanger on Tuesday April 20th around 5pm. His name is Hunio. He is 3 years old. He is a small shih tzu / yorkshire black dog. We are offering a reward of $2500 to anyone who finds him.

UPDATE MAY 18TH: Hunio’s owners received a call from a business owner located close to where he was stolen, a day after their reward was raised to $2500! They said they had the dog, and were detailed enough in their description to confirm they were familiar with Hunio, and promised to return him. Then their story was changed, and is now that the dog has been given away and they can’t or won’t contact the new owners. This is heartless behavior towards Hunio’s owners who miss him dearly, and want nothing more than to have him returned home!

UPDATE MAY 19TH : Incredibly, Hunio is back with his family today! After appealing to the public for help, (on craigslist) the thieves were hounded until they finally gave in and handed Hunio over! A lot of people couldn’t understand why the police weren’t involved with this. After all, a dog is considered property by law. Well, yes, but on the level of a bicycle I guess. Hunio’s owners were told it’s just a dog, forget about it. Even when police were notified that the thieves called to say they were giving Hunio back, and that they were worried about what would happen, they were left to their own devices. And they even had to pay the thieves in exchange for their dog, though only $200. Nonetheless Hunio’s owners are overjoyed to have their little one back home, and incredibly grateful for the support they received from their animal loving community!! I’m overjoyed, and think Hunio’s really lucky to have such a dedicated family! Welcome home, little Hunio!

Cleo

It’s been almost a month now and Cleo is still lost, on the Plateau, in the area St-Denis and Duluth. PLEASE reply to this ad if you think you see her or know where she is. She doesn’t like to go out but a plumber had the door open and was making noises that frightened her. She had no collar when she left.

Please call 514-815-9657 if you think you see her or know where she is. Thank you.

cat-found-Plateau

Black and white cat found on the Plateau Mt-Royal. This pretty cat has been lost since at least one month. He’s very sweet and seems to have been getting by in the alley, but for how long? He comes to eat on occasion (like many other cats…). I”m looking for his owners but no one has claimed him to date.

Arthur

I just received word that Arthur has been found after being lost about a month. This is great news, especially since he wasn’t lost from his home but from his caregiver’s. Kudos to his owner for getting him back, while still out of the country!

Lucas

Lucas was taken in by a neighbour who had mistaken him for a stray, but was found thanks to posters. He’s now under house arrest, and has a brand new collar!

We lost our cat on April 30th, 2010 on the corner of Labrie and Lalande in Longueuil. His name is Sammy  and he’s 6 months old. My 5 year old daughter is especially inconsolable. Thanks for any information.

A happy ending for this sweet lamb, who was found dirty and roaming, and wasn’t claimed (translated from French)

A week has passed and nobody showed up… The lady who was taking care of him was willing to keep him and we decided to give him, because she was in love with the little guy… She is an elderly lady, who had hoped to have a little dog who was already raised, because she wouldn’t have had the patience to train a puppy, we met her when we were looking for the dog’s home. We went to visit them, and believe me he could not have a better home! She had his nails trimmed, bought him a bed, a small brush and all the kit to make a little dog happy! You know, there were some odd things about him : He was so dirty, had really long nails and had lost a lot of hair. He didn’t eat dog food and didn’t know about treats … Before we had taken his picture he had taken a good bath! You know, we’re very proud to have saved this little dog and have given him a second life and now we know very well he’s surrounded with love, it’s perfect and flawless ! He’s now named Copain! Thank you again! :)

What a lucky guy, that he was found by the right people! I’m happy for both him and his new owner!
