For the last few weeks a white and beige Himalyan cat has been stray in the area of Greenfield Park in the neighbourhood of the city hall on Churchill boulevard. He seems lost and no one can approach him.
UPDATE – AUGUST 14TH : This cat was captured, and found a place at the SPCA Montérégie, which is a no-kill shelter.

This girl is very lucky that she fell into the right hands!
I truly believe that this little Himalayan (it’s a female, actually) has been abandoned. The groomer told me she had never seen a cat so poor, that her fur was probably matted for months. She was very difficult to shave. Also, her claws were so long they curled into themselves and were digging into her pads! That’s why she was limping: she had wounds to her pads. She has been vaccinated and dewormed at the vet, and I’ve taken her home. I brought her back to the vet two days later (day before yesterday) because she was drinking a lot of water and had a vaginal discharge. She has been sterilized yesterday because she had an infection of the uterus. $ 600 later (grooming, exam, vaccinations, deworming, x-rays, tests, hospitalization, surgery, antibiotics ,…), we have a brand new little Himalayan who’s happy to be back at home. She seems very well recovered and follows us everywhere like a puppy. She is absolutely adorable. We’ve obviously decided to keep her.
I still hope for Milou, even though I know that the chances that I find him are minimal…
A wonderful ending for this one, now, even better would be to find Milou…

I am trying to locate a cat that’s been stray for years, who stays in the alleys of De La Roche, Brebeuf, Chambord Street between Mt-Royal and Gilford. He’s striped with white paws (now gray). He’s extremely thin and the hair that remains is full of knots. So he needs to be treated urgently. I can’t approach him, or draw him near with food, because he refuses. Someone is feeding him, knows where he stays most often? I could put a cage-trap there. It looks like the cat in this picture, but in a much more precarious state. Thank you.
UPDATE JUNE 6TH : From Raymonde (translated) : Finally he’s started to come onto my balcony. So I’ll try to catch him, and bring him to a vet. I hope to find him an adoptive family as he deserves it after all these years as a stray. If you know someone who’s interested to take him…
UPDATE + PHOTO – JUNE 9TH : From Raymonde (translated) : He’s been stray for years, so useless to look for his owner. I’m ready to pay for his vet care and sterilisation but I hope with all my heart that someone will want to adopt him after. He’s a male, tabby beige/black, who deserves to have a better future.
UPDATE - JULY 25TH : Auguste as he had been dubbed, had finally been caught, but sadly had tested positive for FIV. After all these years surviving on the street, it was decided that not only would finding a home for him prove difficult but that he would not adapt very well to life as an indoor cat, so it was decided that he needed to be euthanized. A decision that surely was not easy, His fate is that of many cats that are left to the wind. RIP beautiful boy.

In Montreal North July 15th 2010, I found a stray dog. He doesn’t have a collar, isn’t sterilized, and has white beige fur shaved short. He weighs about 8 lbs (3.6 kg).

Lost in St-Constant, July 14th 2010
Female shih tzu mix, beige cream, about 11 lbs and answering to the name Vanille. Her leash broke. She’s wearing a collar with a city tag #9305 and an old rabies tag from 2008 (I hadn’t replaced last year’s).
She has short hair as I had shaved her at the beginning of June. She’s been devocalized so can’t bark to get attention. Lost on the corner of Longtin and Beaudry in St-Constant… If you see her, please leave me a message telling me the location or the address where you saw her. Thanks.

I’m so sad to learn that Tiffany’s fate has been discovered. She had been hit by a car and had to be euthanized, as her injuries were far too serious. RIP little Tiffany, your life was far too short.

Paul wasn’t missing long before he was found by a good Samaritan!

After 7 days, Lily has been found in hiding! Yay! (see comment!)

Young neutered male cat, aged 10 months, has been lost since the morning of June 2, 2010 (last Wednesday) in Outremont, corner of Bernard and Lajoie. He’s a gray tabby with white paws, tip of the nose, chest and belly. Not very big, it’s clear that he’s still adolescent. There’s also a bit of beige on his legs. His tail is long and thick for a cat, whose fur is rather short or medium long. His eyes are bright green and almond shaped. His nose is pink and he has very bushy white whiskers.
He was wearing a dark blue elastic collar without a tag, but maybe he ended up losing it. He went out in the morning as usual and didn’t return. Since then, I search every day in the streets and alleys but without success.
His name is Sammy and he knows his name. He’s not too trusting and normally doesn’t let you take him, but when he knows you, he is cuddly and playful. I miss him terribly, as do my children.

PS: The photo was taken a few months ago, so he’s actually a little bigger and his hair is a bit shorter.

After being lost for about a week, Frost was taken in from the rain by a wonderful couple and spent the night with their dog and 3 kitties, and is now back home with his family! He’d strayed quite far from home too!
