Case of animal cruelty in Quebec!

Lab mix in Quebec

I received a heartbreaking message tonight. Who was capable of doing this?

Today a blonde female Lab mix of about 2 years old was thrown from a pickup traveling at high speed on the highway. A blue pickup with a closed box was traveling on Highway 40 near the exit of Grondine, between 17h and 18h30. A person opened the rear window of the box and threw this Labrador onto the middle of Highway 40 at rush hour.

She was rescued by a woman with a big heart who took 1.5 hours to catch her in the woods. She is very thin and very dirty. The inside of her ears are encrusted and red.

The Centre d’Intervention Animal is sending this girl to the vet as soon as they’re open tomorrow morning.

Call the SQ at 418-873-1234 for more information and to ask if something has been or will be done against this individual.

UPDATE – JUNE 10TH : Latest news on this beautiful girl, now named Émy. She is thought to be between 1.5 and 2 years. She is very thin, just skin and bones. She had been chained judging by the rust on the hair around her neck, and she has no muscle mass, so the chain must not have been long enough to move. Her ears are full of scabs, and mosquito bites. Her hair is falling out in clumps, and she was very dirty.

She took a first bath yesterday, she cried in the water, then she went to rest. She’ll have another bath and be shaved. She was able to receive her first vaccinations and she let the vet take care of her. She’s very sweet, she was walked around in the waiting room and she went straight to everybody to lick them. She’s a big licker, and is very affectionate.

She’ll return to the veterinary clinic in a few days and Centre d’Intervention Animal will cover her sterilization.

Emy

UPDATE – JUNE 14TH : A new photo of Émy, now shaved. She’s being doted on and is in very good hands, but has very painful ears, and also has worms, which are preventing her from taking on weight. So she’s being treated for those conditions, and there’s still no word on who is responsible for her condition.

Kassy

Kassy

Her name is Kassy, she’s a 3 year old black Miniature Schnauzer. She wears a red collar and a white (anti-chip). She has longer hair than the pictures as a coat, a chance because it’s cold these days though. I miss her. Elle aurait été vue sur le Boulevard des Seigneurs à Terrebonne. She would have last been seen on Boulevard des Seigneurs in Terrebonne.
