On March 16 morning, I found two dogs running free at the corner of Newman Bld & Guy Bouchard in Lasalle. They looked lost. I asked around in the neighborhood but no one recognized them. I took them home, gave food and water. They are well behaved. Then I had to leave for work and called the city, they came and picked up the dogs. I checked later and no one has claimed them as of now (1.5 days later).
They are now in the care of the LaSalle Veterinary Hospital :

UPDATE – MARCH 22ND : Unfortunately, no one has come forward to claim these two babies, so they’ll be up for adoption at the end of the week. The husky is a male, while the other is a female, and is a rottweiler/boxer mix. They are both thought to be quite young, are well behaved, and obey commands. Hopefully they won’t have to wait too long to be adopted.
UPDATE – MARCH 31ST : Still at the Lasalle Veterinary Hospital, and looking for a new home, hopefully together. They’re listed as Balto and Ruby on Petfinder.
UPDATE – JUNE 7TH : After months of actively trying to place Balto and Ruby with no luck, the Lasalle Veterinary Hospital have worked with The Centre d’adoption d’animaux de compagnie du Québec (CAACQ) to transport Balto to Toronto for adoption, and Ruby will soon follow, providing she’s not adopted before the 18th. Kudos to the Hospital for trying so long to find them a family, and to CAACQ for their work in saving dogs through their program. (The cost of transport is about $470 per trip, so donations are always needed!)
UPDATE – JUNE 14TH : Bittersweet news, Ruby was finally adopted yesterday, and will not need to got to Toronto.
