UPDATE JULY 18TH : This kitty has been taken in but is proving to be a challenge. It seems he’s affectionate, but very vocal and adamant to go out. There are no leads on his owner so, if you’re up for a challenge, he’ll need a home, and a lot of patience.
UPDATE JULY 28TH : He’s been left in the hands of Animal Adoption Montreal, so will be available here!

After over two weeks of multiple sightings, and failed attempts to capture her, Mew Mew’s adventures are finally at an end! (Her owner made the good point that running after a cat invariably leads to them running away.) Mew Mew ended up following a kindly woman home who had given her attention, (not knowing she was lost!) Later, when she discovered her under her car, a little research led her to find an ad on kijiji. She had managed to stray a kilometre away from home! And of course the first thing Mew Mew did upon arrival was go to the kitchen for some kibble! Welcome home little Mew Mew!

Reward
He escaped through a window without his collar, on Thursday night was Friday, May 21st. Black and white, tuxedo, responds to the name Black and Blacky. He left by the alley of Chabot / Cartier between l’Ouest David and Everette.
Please contact me if you see or catch him. He is very sociable.

I just received word that Arthur has been found after being lost about a month. This is great news, especially since he wasn’t lost from his home but from his caregiver’s. Kudos to his owner for getting him back, while still out of the country!

Hi, I’ve found a beautiful young cat since early last week. (March 1st). Although he had no collar, he is surely lost or abandoned as he was just waiting in front of the garage. He was clean and well fed and did not appear roughed up. My Mom took him in and has been with her since. I have checked several lost and found sites as well as having been on the look out for postings in the neighborhood but have found nothing.
I will try to get a picture asap, but in the meantime he is a young male cat, approx 1 year old. He is a little shy but friendly, he is black and white with black around the eyes and a black stripe along his back.
UPDATE – JULY 25TH : No picture so I’ll leave the text, this kitty was adopted by the people who found him!
My 2 cats, accustomed to short trips in my backyard, have in the space of 4 months not returned, one after the other? For several years and these 2 cats would occasionally go out for 1 to 2 hours, and did not venture into the streets and alleys. They returned to the balcony in my cabane and I would let them in to eat. They are missing in the St-Michel district, along the Quarry. They’ve both disappeared, on May 1st ’09 Roux, and on September 2nd ’09, the black cat. They are 2 males. We find it strange? Are very concerned given that winter is coming, they will surely suffer …
If you live in St-Michel, Villeray, look around your house and also visit the sites of Berger Blanc and Spca, our photo is there just for the black cat. Here are pictures of the 2 cats!
Message to everyone: I think if a person wants to keep an animal they found, they should at least tell people by email or phone, call anonymously if they’re so afraid, at least we would know that our animals are safe … It is a bad thing for a good!
Contact us immediately. Thank you! M. and Mme. Roy 514-727-1982
UPDATE : October 1st: I received a heartbreaking email from Mme Roy last night. Benny was apparently found and turned into Berger Blanc. The people who found him stated that it was cat #686 that was posted on the Berger Blanc website. Rather than calling Mme Roy, they deemed that Benny was too malnourished and dehydrated, and euthanized him immediately.
I have not had any personal experience with Berger Blanc, and can only report what happened. But I think it would be appropriate for the citizens of Montreal to have a choice as to who our contracts are given to, and I would urge those of you who find lost animals, to think carefully, if you have the animal’s best interests at heart. I would also urge those of you who have lost an animal, to be careful, as Benny might not have been brought to Berger Blanc, had his finders not seen his photo on their site. I am truly saddened by this turn of events, and my sympathies are with Mme Roy.

I lost my dog on the 20th of June at about 8:00 in the evening in the area of Villeray/St-Michel. I’d really like to find him. He is almost one year old, and is a bichon maltese. He’s all white and weighs 5 – 6 lbs. Thanks in advance, Marie-Line Durocher
