Yorkshire puppy found in D.D.O. – home!!

dog-x

I would like to pass the message on to the owners, should they see this post, that they needn’t be angry, the intent was not to insult them. They lost a 3 month old puppy in the woods, without collar or tags. They should be grateful to the two honest people who found her and brought her to the clinic, to the person who took her in and looked after her, and posted her in an attempt to find them, to the people who shared the post in order to help. They should be grateful that their tiny puppy survived, wasn’t killed while out lost. We don’t know them, so they shouldn’t take any comments personally, the vast majority of which were offers to help while we looked for them.

There was nothing but good intentions here, so it’s a shame that they’re not just happy that Chiki is found!!! A lot of effort was made by many people to get her home!

Injured yorkie found in St-Henri

Injured yorkie found in St-Henri

I found the dog early this morning about 5:30 – 6:00am. There was a car driving at the intersection of St.Remi and St. Jacques and it hit the dog and injured only its hind leg. It’s not badly injured but its hind leg is broken. It’s under 2 years old.

Please call me asap if this is your dog, you can reach me at 514 791 3339.

* has been taken to a vet, more info to follow when available!

UPDATE : This is the message from Jonas, who has not left this little one since he found her!

I brought her to the vet and her hind right leg is broken right above the knee. I got some pain medication for her but she didn’t seem to show any signs of pain before although she could of been in pain either way. She has the medication now so she’s gonna be more comfortable.

After speaking with the vet she said that surgery to fix the leg could be about 2500$ to 3000$ or an amputation. Surgeries aren’t guaranteed and could possibly lead to an amputation which would be 300$.

I’m currently working on fundraising for the dog to get the best help possible. I’ll be going back to the vet monday to see what our options are with the money raised. Realistically because of the break surgery will be a process left to chance potentially, but I’ll try and get different referrals from other veterinarians before making a decision. I have a friend who is helping out and might take care of the dog through the recovery process of either the surgery or amputation.

I have started a chip in so as to collect the funds needed, as the decisions made will depend on the funds available. In the event that the owner is found we’ll revisit the situation, but we can’t wait. Since we don’t have a total, any funds over and above will go to another animal in need! Thanks!!

FINAL UPDATE : Meeki as she is now named, did finally get her operation that saved her leg, and the people who found her have decided to keep her. Huge thanks to all who donated to her operation. Wishing Meeki a long and happy life!

Gucci – found!

Gucci

Gucci has been found, I’m happy to hear. He’d been missing since January 21st (their message from french)!

He was found in the area of l’Imprimerie Mirabel (in St-Janvier). He spent a total of six days out, braving the cold, snow and rain. He is a lot thinner, but after only a few days he has returned to himself and this experience is now behind us. As much as we had suffered from his loss, we also learned how many wonderful people were willing to help us out. It is a great lesson in life and my family and myself thank all those who participated in one way or another in his search.

Thanks to all who shared!

Yorkshire terrier found in Laval

Yorkie found in Laval

We found this shy yorkshire terrier in Laval near the waterfront and the new bridge on the 25 this morning (31 July 2011). He is tattooed so in principal we should be able to find the breeder.

This is a male. He weighs about 3-5 pounds. It is difficult to judge the age of a small dog but he is wise enough, but not very clean (nervousness?) So he looks like 2 to 3 years.

If ever you have news, you can reach us at this email : or 450-934-3087. Thank you.
